Tech & Trade Academy

**Due to Covid-19 restrictions our Tech and Trade Academy is currently on hold***

Tech and Trade Academy is offered to Grades 4-6 students as an after school program of approximately 60 minutes a week where students commit to learning about Multi Media and Pre-Engineering streams.  Embedded in these two streams are topics such as Robotics, Coding, Photography and Film Making to name a few.  There are limited spots available.

Our students have done very well in competitions following their skill building activities in Tech and Trade Academy.  Last year two of our students won first and third at the first Innovators and Inventors Fair.  Our teams also did well at the Coding tournament winning three categories in 2017 and five in January 2018:  1st place for programming, 2nd & 3rd for Design, Rookie of the year and 3rd place overall champs (photos below).  The big event is our Spring Robotics tournament.  In 2017 we entered 10 teams in the tournament of 55 teams and came out as overall tournament champions with additional wins in Mechanical Design and Programming.  In 2018 we had 12 teams and did very well again, tying for first place overall and winning a record  9 other awards including Rookie Coach of the year and Hall of Fame supporter of STEAM.  Here is a related news article.

The Robotics tournament photo album is also available HERE.

We always try our best to keep ahead of the technology and watch for upcoming necessary skills students will require.  This is the essence of Tech and Trade Academy.
