Outdoor Classroom Project Volunteers needed!

Outdoor Classroom Project Volunteers needed!

We continue to fundraise and begin our planning for the space adjacent to the primary playground. Students have submitted some ideas that they have researched and now teachers are working with students to connect the ideas to curriculum as a part of the Project Based Learning that is happening this year.  Congratulations to Grade 6 students, Christian and Saad who created a design for a Sundial to be part of the outdoor classroom.  Their project was chosen through a classroom version of Dragon's Den called "Raven's Den".   We are excited about this legacy they will leave behind!

The Outdoor Classroom is a school wide project with each grade contributing at least one element to the design.  We are very excited to reveal our plans and begin building the space!  Next week we will finalize our timeline to build with our experts from Dunvegan and Parks and Rec, as well as Burnco and Rona!

We have done a lot of fundraising on our own and continue to also get community support.  We received a grant of $400  through Learning for a Sustainable Future, and recently Nexen gifted us $5000.00 towards this project.  We appreciate the local support and look forward to sharing the final completed project with our sponsors in June!
