My name is Jessie LaFrance and I am the new grade 6 teacher at Walter and Gladys Hill. This is my 11th year of teaching, having started my career with FMPSD at Beacon Hill, Ecole McTavish, and later FMIS, before heading to other parts of the country and Malaysia. Now I am back and excited to be working at WGH this year. Most of my teaching experience is grades 4-8, but I have also been a Learning Assistance Coordinator and in school leadership.

 
I am originally from Kelowna, BC where I attended the University of British Columbia before heading more north to UNBC for my BEd. I also have a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Inclusive Education and am currently working on my Master's degree. In my free time, I travel as much as possible and scuba dive. And even though I am more of a dog person, I rescued two cats in Malaysia that have made the grueling move back with me to Canada. 

I look forward to collaborating with families and working on the transition to junior high from elementary for our students.
