Grade 4

This is my 3rd year teaching at Walter and Gladys Hill Elementary School, and my 16th year with Fort McMurray School Division.  I have taught most grades from K-6 as well as being a Physical Education teacher, Learning Coach and Learning Assistance Coordinator. I have also previously taught English Immersion Kindergarten in South Korea for 2 years and worked in the field of children's mental health for 10 years. I am currently taking my master's degree in Inclusive Education. In my free time I love to travel with my family and show my children the world. My goals as a teacher are to develop independence in the students I work with and to foster their curiosity in the world around them. I am so happy to be a part of the amazing staff and families at Walter and Gladys Hills School and am looking forward to a successful year together!

Communication will be done through email and most student work is available through Google Classroom.

Division Notice

ATA Strike Commencing on Monday; School Closures Starting Oct 6th

As a result of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) rejecting a proposed deal from the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA), all FMPSD schools will be closed to students starting Monday, October 6, 2025, unless a new agreement is reached or strike action is otherwise averted. Additionally, all yellow school bus routes will be suspended for the duration of the strike.

In light of the ongoing strike, all extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and after-school programs, will be temporarily suspended.

As there is no definitive end date for the strike, FMPSD is unable to provide a timeline for when normal operations will resume. We will continue to provide timely updates as we receive them from the Ministry of Education and Child Care.
