My name is Tiara Samson (She/They), and I am so excited to join the Walter and Gladys Hill Public School family as the Mental Health Counsellor.

Growing up as part of a Canadian military family, I wasn’t really able to say I was “from” anywhere. I moved around a lot, including attending 8 different schools by the time I graduated high school.  Fortunately, I moved to Fort McMurray 18 years ago, fell in love with the community (I even love the winters here!), and now I proudly tell anyone who will listen that I am from Fort McMurray. 

I have worked with the Fort McMurray Public School Division school division for 7 years as the FASD Success Coach. I hold a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Biological Psychology from the University of New Brunswick and a Bachelor of Social Work from St. Thomas University. I am looking forward to connecting with and supporting Walter and Gladys Hill students, and being part of this amazing school community.
